About the Gallery
Founded in 1963 by Anne and Jean-Claude Lahumière, the gallery has been managed by Diane and Frédéric Lahumière since 2017. It played a role in the creation of the first international art fairs and exhibits on average at three fairs per year, such as Art Basel, Art Cologne, and Art Paris.
For over 30 years, the gallery's focus has been on constructed and geometric abstraction. This is evident both in representing "historical" artists such as Cahn, Dewasne, Gorin, Herbin, Magnelli, Nemours or Vasarely, and in championing its contemporary and avant-garde aspect with artists like Bézie, Bodde, Coignet, Dubreuil, Gasquet, Jacquier Stajnowicz, Perrot, Pondruel, Popet, Prosi, Shim or Stempfel.
“Our role is increasingly becoming one of organizing educational exhibitions or strengthening the image of a lesser-known artist. It seems to us that despite the constant changes in the art scene, the geometric orientation in artistic creation remains as rich and vibrant as ever. It reinforces our choices. Behind each work we select and showcase lies the history and identity of the gallery. Our quality criterion is simple: we ask ourselves if this work would have a place in our collection, and at that point, we can offer it to a collector.”
